Using peppermint oil and soaps to control insects goes back centuries. Chemical pesticides have many detrimental side effects and insects have demonstrated their ability to rapidly develop resistance which is why chemical companies continually must develop new ones.
Our custom blend of peppermint oil and soap is not toxic to people and is just as effective in killing mosquitoes as chemical alternatives and insects can't develop resistance. Unlike chemical pesticides, which typically act as neuro-toxins, peppermint oil is believed to disrupt the respiratory systems of mosquitoes. The best way to kill the larvae shown in the picture to the right is to dump and clean out the container. But when there are places with standing water that we can not eliminate, we use only biological controls like Bti, a bacteria that mosquito larvae eat and then die. It's the same bacteria contained in Mosquito Dunks.
